Apart from that Mrs Lincoln, how’d you enjoy the play?

I reckon everything’s a matter of perspective.

I have FA, which is truly F*&%ing Awful, but there’s nothing I can do about it now. To be mad about it would be simply a waste of energy, for me and everyone around me that I might upset. It’s unfair sure, but only in the way that an earthquake or a volcano’s unfair. There’s no-one to blame so it would be a waste to try to think of blaming anyone.

A much more valuable and rewarding use for my energy is to consider what I want to accomplish, what I can (realistically) accomplish, and setting out to do so. In fact, as our Irish fellow ataxian proved to us earlier this year, there’s virtually nothing that we can’t accomplish if we want it badly enough.

We just need to keep our circumstances in perspective on that journey. Personally, I’ve found that I can do most things that I want to do, I just take a bit longer and look more ungainly than others while I’m doing them. But I’m prepared for that.
